Sun Chemical launches SunCure Advance ECO UV inks for folding carton

July 29, 2025

Press release submitted on behalf of Sun Chemical.

Sun Chemical, Parsippany, New Jersey, a leading producer of packaging and graphic solutions, color and display technologies, has launched SunCure Advance ECO UV sheetfed inks for folding carton applications. Created to run on high-speed presses, these inks feature excellent press color stability, fast curing and low misting, helping to reduce paperboard waste during make-ready processes and after press stops. Capable of running at speeds exceeding 20,000 impressions per hour, the inks are designed to run on a wide array of paper and paperboard substrates, including low-integrity clay-coated types.

With sustainability and performance at the forefront of the design, SunCure Advance ECO inks contain 25–30 percent bio-renewable content and are certified by the American Soybean Association for soy content.

“SunCure Advance ECO is the latest innovation from our Advance energy curable ink technology line that demonstrates Sun Chemical’s continued commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of our own products and processes, as well as our customers’,” said Jim Bishop, product manager of Offset Packaging Inks, Sun Chemical. “Our test partners have been impressed by the ink’s stability and responsiveness under demanding production conditions, allowing optimized productivity and performance.”

Based on Sun Chemical’s newly engineered pigment and binder chemistries, SunCure Advance ECO chemistry enables lower ink and water settings during the printing process, resulting in higher print fidelity, a wider lithographic ink and water window, excellent mileage and improved use among a broader range of operator experience levels.

The inks are ISO 2846-1 color-compliant, support G7 targets and meet Graphic Measures International (GMI) standards. A low-migration, Nestlé-compliant version is also available for both UV and LED curing conditions.

To further enhance pressroom efficiency, Sun Chemical has developed compatible HydroPace 500 and Green Diamond 567 fountain solutions that work well with high application speed aqueous and UV coatings and press blankets.
