Polyplex Corp. to invest US$67 million in new BOPET-film line in India

January 17, 2025

Polyplex Corp., Ltd., says it will establish a new manufacturing plant in India for BOPET films, growing its production capacity by 52,400 tonnes a year. The roughly $67-million investment will yield further output of BOPET films, known for their strength, clarity, and barrier properties. These are applied to food packaging, electrical insulation, and industrial laminates.

The new plant is expected to be on-line in H1 FY2027-28.

Polyplex currently operates at full capacity, producing 90,000 tonnes a year of BOPET and BOPP films. This expansion is intended to meet growing market demand and further strengthens the company’s position in the specialty-films market.

Polyplex has manufacturing and distribution operations in six countries: India, Thailand, Turkey, USA, Indonesia and The Netherlands with active sales in all major regional markets/customers across the globe. Polyplex (Americas), Inc., is located in Fort Worth, TX.
