Polykar, a leading Canadian manufacturer of flexible packaging, has announced a US$14.25 million expansion of its Edmonton (AB) facility that will double production capacity and create 25 permanent jobs. The investment highlights the company’s strong commitment to growth, innovation, and supporting the region’s thriving business community.
With this new investment, supported by recent strategic-equity contributions of MontClerc Capital, Polykar will add another 50,000 sq ft of modern production space, expected to increase output to 40 million lbs annually by Fall 2026.
The company’s Edmonton facility quickly became a hub of advanced manufacturing and sustainable packaging, recycling more than three million lbs of Alberta plastic waste annually and supporting Alberta’s circular plastics economy.
“Since opening our Edmonton facility, Polykar has experienced steady growth, and less than three years later we’re ready to expand again,” says Amir Karim, President & CEO of Polykar. “We’re also grateful to partners like the City of Edmonton, Edmonton Global, and the Alberta Government, whose unwavering collaboration, support and guidance have been invaluable in helping us connect and grow in the city.”
Polykar initially invested $40 million in 2019 to establish its Edmonton regional facility.
