Oben Group to install world’s first 12-m BOPP-film line

March 3, 2025

With an output of 94,000 tonnes/yr and a speed of 700 fpm, the Brueckner Maschinenbau production line is being built for its plant in Mexico.

Oben Group, a global leader in high-quality packaging films with a diverse product portfolio, continues to expand its footprint. Following the acquisition of KristaFilms in July 2023, the company is set to establish a new production facility in Monterrey, Mexico. This facility will feature reportedly the world’s most advanced BOPP-film production line, setting new industry benchmarks in output, speed, and winding diameter – delivered by Brückner Maschinenbau.

As one of Brückner’s earliest and largest customers, Oben Group has maintained a strong partnership with the company. Markus Gschwandtner, MD-Brückner Maschinenbau, expressed his appreciation for this collaboration: “I am particularly pleased that our long-term partnership has resulted in the world’s first 12-meter BOPP line. It highlights our close relationship of over 30 years and, for now, is the icing on the cake.”

Oben Group President Jamil Zaidan emphasized the company’s commitment to growth and innovation: “This new milestone reflects our dedication to pushing the boundaries of efficiency and productivity. Our partnership with Brückner has been instrumental in achieving these advancements, and we look forward to further strengthening our leadership in the packaging industry worldwide.”
