McDowell Label wins L9 World Label 2024 Best of the Best Award for combination printing

March 13, 2025

The Resource Label Group company was among the five winners in the 2024 Best of the Best L9 World Label Competition, organized by the World Label Awards Assn. Judged by an international panel of experts just prior to Labelexpo Americas 2024, entries were chosen in main printing process categories of flexography, letterpress, offset lithography, combination printing and digital printing.

McDowell Label’s work was for customer EHP Labs for its Isopept Vanilla Ice Cream supplement powder. This striking label is printed on a silver-foil substrate, featuring an extremely even matte black background. It was also printed with similarly even and dense white, onto which very fine black type characters and gold lacquer areas with reversed-out fine text. Finishing touches are both flat gloss and high build varnish, domed and tactile varnished with extreme accuracy, especially where positioned over the reversed-out Braille dots.

The McDowell label had taken the 2023 TLMI Best of Show honor in that trade group’s annual Printing Excellence Awards competition.
