First North American installation of SEI Laser’s X-Wave Corrugated announced by Matik

October 15, 2025

Matik Inc., West Hartford, Connecticut, the exclusive North American distributor for SEI Laser, is proud to announce the first installation of the SEI Laser X-Wave Corrugated digital laser system in North America at Middlestreet Graphics in Columbus, Ohio. This milestone marks a major advancement in digital finishing for the corrugated packaging and display industry.

The SEI Laser X-Wave Corrugated is a state-of-the-art laser cutting and creasing solution designed for large-format corrugated sheets up to 63 inches x 96 inches, including B/C flute board. With its high-speed, continuous feed, non-contact laser technology, the X-Wave delivers unmatched precision, flexibility and production efficiency—eliminating the need for multiple slower knife cutting plotters.

“This installation represents a significant step forward for digital corrugated production in North America,” said Steve Leibin, president of Matik Inc. “The X-Wave Corrugated enables converters like Middlestreet Graphics to move from PDF to finished product in record time, with no tooling, faster turnaround and greater design freedom.”

Key features of the SEI Laser X-Wave Corrugated include:

  • Digital Workflow: Seamless transition from PDF to finished display, enabling faster speed to market and reduced setup time.
  • High-Speed Laser Processing: Precision cutting and creasing at production-level speeds.
  • Continuous Feed: Featuring integrated auto-load and unload capability.
  • Large Format Capability: Supports sheets up to 63 inches x 96 inches, ideal for packaging, POP displays and short-run customization.
  • Material Versatility: Compatible with a wide range of corrugated substrates, including B and C flute boards.

“We are excited to partner with Middlestreet Graphics as the first adopter of this groundbreaking technology in North America,” said Marco Capoferri, sales director at SEI Laser. “The X-Wave Corrugated is designed to meet the growing demand for short-run, high-quality and sustainable packaging solutions.”

This installation underscores SEI Laser’s and Matik’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge digital solutions that empower converters to innovate, reduce waste and respond rapidly to market demands.
