With the successful completion of a US$10.5 million investment at its plant in Halle, Germany, Coveris has unlocked its full production potential in line with enhanced customer requirements. The upgrades in machine capacity and infrastructure mark a major leap forward in the site’s capabilities and reinforce its strategic importance in the production of flexible packaging.
The comprehensive site enhancement includes three major developments aimed at increasing production efficiency, boosting quality output, and supporting sustainable growth:
New Cast-Film Extrusion Line: The F08 cast-film extrusion line has entered full production following successful material qualification. This addition strengthens the site’s flexibility in material development and supports the production of customised, future-ready packaging solutions, with a special focus on recyclable monofilms for thermoforming and medical applications.
Next-Generation Printing Capacity Up and Running: The state-of-the-art, BOBST T9 Rotomec gravure-printing press has completed its testing phase and is now fully operational. This high-performance press increases printing speed, precision, and reliability, enabling the production of premium packaging with improved consistency and turnaround times.
A Strategic Milestone for the Future: By investing in these three areas, Coveris Halle has strengthened its portfolio of sustainable monofilm solutions, improved delivery times, and elevated its rotoprinting strengths to a new level, enabling the site to meet customers’ sustainability and customisation requirements more effectively than before.
“This completed investment is a testament to our long-term vision and commitment to delivering high performance packaging solutions. Halle is now equipped to meet evolving market demands with even greater agility and quality,” says Michael Schrameyer, MD-Coveris Flexibles Germany.
