WI-based American Roller acquires roll-covering supplier PETCO, Inc.

Union Grove-based American Roller (above) announces its acquisition of PETCO, Inc., (Polyurethane Engineering Techniques Co.) in Lake Forest, IL.  The acquisition further expands American Roller’s position as the industry leader in industrial rolls serving a wide variety of manufacturing markets. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

PETCO was founded in 1961 by the Smith family, who built a successful business serving a large part of the Unites States Midwest. As part of the succession planning process, PETCO chose American Roller as the best steward of continuing the legacy and success for the customers and employees of PETCO.

The PETCO operations in Lake Forest are being relocated to the American Roller Union Grove facilities. All employees of PETCO are being retained by American Roller. PETCO has provided polyurethane and rubber roll coveringsand fabrications for the graphic-arts and coating markets and has supplied custom engineered parts for general industrial markets.

“We are grateful that the Smith family and PETCO employees have placed their trust in American Roller,” says Dan Cahalane, president/CEO of American Roller. “I must also mention what an incredible team and business process we have in the American Roller Way. To complete three acquisitions in 12 months and integrate all of them immediately is incredible.”

In conjunction with this acquisition, American Roller will increase its urethane-casting business and further expand truck runs serving the Midwest.

American Roller plans to make further announcements in early 2024 regarding new developments in its American Roller Way business strategy.
